Our Year 4 boys and girls stepped back in time this week as they visited the Canterbury Pop-Up Museum to explore the dinosaur exhibition currently on. Making the most of our central city location, students were able to walk to the venue and engage in hands-on learning beyond the classroom.
Taking on the role of young palaeontologists, students worked collaboratively to observe, question, and investigate. Using evidence from fossils and physical traits, they explored the big question: Which dinosaurs evolved into birds — and how do we know?
Through this experience, students examined different dinosaur groups, identified bird-like features, and used scientific thinking to form and justify their ideas.
